[gentoo-science] Failed emerge for sci-visualization/mayavi-4.4.2

Hi,
   I have a problem emerging sci-visualization/mayavi-4.4.2: here is
the error message:

I could open a bug, but first I would like to understand whether the
problem is with the mayavi ebuild, or mayavi itself, or some
dependency.
