Guys,
OK, I installed 3.7.39 on the following platforms:
1. Core2Duo64SSE3
2. Core2Duo32SSE3
4. HAMMER64SSE3
5. HAMMER32SSE3
6. POWER464
7. POWER432
8. USIV32
9. USIV64
10. Itanium64
11. PPCG564/OSX
12. PPCG532/OSX
13. Solaris/x86
14. USIII32
15. USIII64
and this discovered a couple of errors/weaknesses in configure that I have
now fixed. It is my hope that 3.7.40 will become the new stable. I am
presently finishing up the documentation update, and then I will retest
the modified package for release of 3.8.0. Let me know if you see problems.
The ChangeLog entry is included below.
Cheers,
Clint
ATLAS 3.7.40 released 10/10/07, changes from 3.7.39:
* Fixed configure, where lack of \n after GOODGCC caused errors on Itanium
* Increased MAXALLOC in tfc.c to allow larger malloc in CacheEdge detection
* Replaced nonportable == with -eq (int) or = (str) in test lines of
configure
* Rewrote config's handling of 32/64 compiler flags to be more robust
to get around error found when trying to install 32bit SunOS libs
* Added USIII architectural defaults and config support
* Updated atlas_devel and atlas_contrib
