Guys,
I had an error in 3.7.27:
https://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1657247&group_id=23725&atid=379483
I fixed this in 3.7.28. I also added the feature that the gcc arch defaults
will be used for any gnu compiler, regardless of compiler name (i.e., gcc-4.1
and gcc32 will both use the gcc defaults). I still have a couple of tweaks
to make configure compiler tweaking easier, as you can see at this feature
request:
http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=1653503&group_id=23725&atid=379485
Note that ATLAS does not presently check for versioning info, so if I build
the arch defaults for the prerelease 4.2 compiler, and you use an old 4.1
or 3.2, then performance may be depressed. So, it is important to do a
"make time" step to see if your timings hold up against mine . . .
Cheers,
Clint
