Does anyone know why polyml has lingered in bugs.gentoo.org so long?
It's now licensed under LGPL.

Probably because no developer has enough spare time and motivation to
add it and deal with ongoing maintenance. You might want to consider
getting it into the science overlay (gentooscience.org).
