You may also want to look at the ebuild for=20 "octaviz", a project to run VTK from within octave: http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3D70085 I have used paraview a little myself. I haven't taken the time to make=20 an ebuild which compiles it from source, but I do have one that simply=20 expands the pre-compiled tarball. I can send it to you offlist if you li= ke.
