I'm also interesting it in this application. I did some investigation and found that ParaView source already contain VTK. of course it would be preferable to have VTK package installed separately, but as well as I understood it is hard to compile ParaView using external VTK, and ParaView developers prefer not to do that (I found something like that in their maillist) one more interesting visualization application is VisIt http://www.llnl.gov/visit/about.html it also based on VTK. Unfortunately I cannot spend much time now for compilation from source and ebuild writing (and I'm not experienced in it), but I'm ready to be a tester. best Maxim -- gentoo-science@gentoo.org mailing list
