Glade to know you are interested in this sub project. If you want to be
in contact with the comunity you can stay on #gentoo-science and talk
with another users and devs. You can subscribe the Mailing list and much
much more things you can do.
For now we are interested in adding new applications to the tree
(related with physics) this task is sometimes difficult because there
isn't enough publicity of this applications. So you can research and
write an ebuild (if you want to get involved in the development). Of
course you can tell us how to you relate Gentoo with your physics works.
You can also suggest anything you think it will improve this project.

Greetings
