What about newbies? Please make it easier to *at least* the boot part, after that there's the gentoo handbook ;). (Like many, I started learning most of the things that I know with the handbook, so I couldn't figure that liveusb@windows alone). I believe it was OpenSolaris that had this well worked out. Their livecd had a small script that allowed to copy itself to a liveusb. I started writing the script for gentoo some time ago, but had to stop. Besides, environmentally speaking liveusb should be encouraged :p > Subject: Re: [gentoo-releng] Re: Call for feature requests for 2008.0 > From: wolf31o2@gentoo.org > To: gentoo-releng@lists.gentoo.org > Date: Fri, 25 Jan 2008 11:34:57 -0800 > > On Fri, 2008-01-25 at 11:02 -0800, Arthur Britto wrote: > > For people who have CDROM driver issues or lack of a CDROM drive, > > LiveUSB images would be nice a addition to 2008.0: > > > > Gentoo Linux LiveUSB HOWTO > > http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/liveusb.xml > > > > Unfortunately, some potential users are not in a position to follow the > > instructions due to lack of access to a Gentoo root shell. > > You don't need access to Gentoo.
