Is it possible to use gcloop with a bz2 compressed image? If not, is it likely
to be supported in the future?

Thanks,

As far as I know, gcloop hasn't been actively maintained for a couple
years now. I have actually removed support for it from the next version
of catalyst since squashfs provides better results.

gcloop was an interesting project started to solve the shortcomings
present in the original cloop, but looks like nobody got quite
interested after squashfs started working. The main problem with gcloop
is the fact it requires in kernel decompressors. If someone is still
interested in the concept probably could be possible use something in
between fuse and dm but I don't have the time now.
