Devs,
2004.1 is well on its way to meeting the April 28th deadline. Currently,
x86, ppc, sparc, and amd64 are on eagle being staged to the mirrors.
This release, all release media has been signed by the releng@gentoo.org
gpg key (a derivative of my zhen@g.o key) and there are READMEs and
CONTENTS in place for each component of the release (livecds,
packagecds, and stages). On the 28th, infra will flip the bits to +r on
the mirrors, and pr will publish the press release! Barring any
unforseen problems, 2004.1 should be the first Gentoo release where all
parties involved weren't ready to have a collective coronary :)

I have moved the 2004.1 feature request list to a different directory
and have expanded its scope a bit [1]. Instead of being release version
specific, the feature request is now going to be a tracking page for all
release feature requests. As you can see, it has a more forward looking
design that should help to track things a bit.

Thanks to all that have made 2004.1 possible!! Arch release
coordinators, remember to get those relnotes written :) I will keep you
all updated.

Cheers,
//zhen

What happens if you leave, get hit by a bus or otherwise move on to doing
other things besides release engineering?

Wouldn't it be a better idea to create a totally separate key and use that
for signing the release media?
