amd64 also has a drop-dead date of October 16th for our portage snapshot.
Expect that snapshot to be made tomorrow during the day sometime. Probably
around 1800UTC. A few hours thereafter, new stages and a new bare-bones
LiveCD should become available for testing. Over the weekend and next week,
the package and universal CDs will be built for amd64.

Is portage-2.0.51 going to be ready for tomorrow?

Well, 2004.3 depends on 2.0.51. So we won't be able to finalize our portage
snapshot until it's stable. :-/

I forwarded your reply to gentoo-releng@gentoo.org so our releng team doesn't
miss it. We'll see what they say.

Thanks for the heads-up!

Because of nothing being ready, the snapshot is pushed back to
Wednesday, the 20th of october.

The devs in question know that they need to get their stuff ready
(portage, genkernel, catalyst and maybe Gnome and xorg)
