I have SATA support on my motherboard, plus a converter unit so that I can
plug a normal IDE drive into a SATA port. I've never used SATA before, but I'm
in the position where I can possibly help testing.

I would love to have a kernel developer to double check our work.
Beejay, Livewire, and myself have been faithfully trying to get the
configs to work, and if there is a kernel developer who would like to
help us tweak them, please join the gentoo-releng ml. Thanks!
Cheers,

Daniel -
The best thing that you could do is drop a CD in the drive and let us
know what happens. Did it work? Did it not work? What do we need to make
it work? Any or all of that would be greatly appreciated :) Please post
all bugs to bugs.gentoo.org.
Cheers (and much thanks),
