Just FYI, the x86 profiles have cascaded equivalents in
${PORTDIR}/profiles/default. I've got sparc profiles coming online soon
(it's a bit of a pain to convert these things, just because of the
version and other checks).  Anyway, I've tried to document each file in
the process (and put copyright and license headers as well).  There is a
bootstrap-cascade.sh script in ${PORTDIR}/scripts at the moment as
well.  Aron helped me with that to make it work with the cascaded
profiles, and from the looks of it, it should work with the current
profiles as well. (any volunteers willing to test both?).  Meanwhile,
I'm freshening up on guide-xml and I'll have a proper howto for it as
well.

Hi all -
Please do not use stackable profiles for the 2004.1 release as they have
not had time to be fully tested yet. I am not yet confident that all of
the key elements work well together - Portage, Catalyst, and the
profiles themselves. We have already met our milestone for 2004.1 by
starting the integration, but let's wait until the next release until we
fully integrate them.
