so it's been long enough to hold another qa lead election. who wants to run ?
i (and i imagine many others) nominate Mark. if no one else gets nominated,
it'll streamline the election process ;) ...

I still want to see his resurrection plan though :]
Imho having a meeting @ #gentoo-qa once a month or so would help us becoming a
team and not just a bunch of devs at qa alias. We could discuss the QA
problems, set goals etc. Also, the slacker marks system used in council would
quickly show who wants to be in the team and who doesn't.

So, I have been thinking about the slacker system as well. Here's what
I think we should be starting with as our plan to get back on our feet:
* Clear out the QA bugs. We have several bugs that are assigned to us,
or have us CC'd. We should do something with these, not all are
difficult, but require a few people doing some work.
* Get some sort of meetings or discussions going on the mailing list,
and figure out a system to ensure that everyone on the team meets
criteria we decide upon for them to be considered active.
* Poll the user and dev communities to find out what they see as our
biggest QA issues. After we get those, we can prioritize them and
find out which are even solvable.
That's all I have for now...there are lots and lots of other things we
can start to work on as well, but I think these should be our focus to
start with.

So, its been several days now. Is anyone else interested in the QA lead
position besides myself? How do my plans above sound?
Thanks,

I say go for it. As for #3, I've always been interested in quantifying
QA issues, and I'll be interested in any ideas you come up with, and
might be able to help out some.

And now its going to be over a week since the election was first
proposed and no one else has stepped forward, so I'll go ahead and make
the appropriate changes to the project page and such when I get home
tonight (unless someone has any objections to me doing so).
Thanks,

We are supposed to have one of these every once in awhile apparently ;)
I'm going to self nominate myself, I think that's allowed. I'd like to
continue bringing in more motivated people to proactively look for
problems in the tree and alert everyone to them. I think the team is
growing, albeit slowly, in a good way, and I'd like to continue to see
more people care about what we are trying to do. I also want to start
consolidating some of our separate efforts so that everyone can work on
problems using the same sets of tools (like the tinderbox stuff that
Diego has put so much work into).
So, lets give this about a week to hold nominations, and we'll take it
from there.
Thanks,
