I apologize for the late addition, but based on real-world interrupts
and non-responses from Vendors, I was initially going to slip and
present the final infra server request at the next meeting.

However this past week it looks like there have been more drive failures
in the existing stuff (including one of the SSDs in ovenbird.gentoo.org
late Saturday night), and I think I've given the vendor contacts enough
time, so I'd like to just move ahead anyway.

The final server quote is here:
https://dev.gentoo.org/~robbat2/20220312-infrastructure-server-thinkmate-RAX-QN10-21E2.pdf
Coming in at $25,505 USD/ea before taxes & shipping.
Does not include any discounts either, which I'm hoping that ThinkMate
might provide us.

It includes 3x TLC NVME drives, when I was trying to get QLC drives
before to save money. However the price of QLC drives has increased to
the point where it's now $1899/ea for the 7.68TB TLC drives vs $1843/ea
for QLC.

- 2x AMD EPYC 7543 CPUs, 32-core/64-thread each.
- 1TB of RAM
- 1x512GB OS NVME
- 3x7.68TB DATA NVME
- 2x25Gbit networking (and onboard 2x1Gbit)

Future expansion room:
- could double the RAM
- could add another 7x NVME
- PCIe slot available

OS will be RAIDed onto the data NVMEs as well (this is where the Dell
offering was good for RAID1 OS disks, but Dell was twice the price
overall).

Power consumption is not on the PDF, but the website tooling estimates a
peak of 700W (of which 450W is the CPU at peak).

The Foundation would purchase 2 of these machines to start with, with
the third as a potential option as needed and subject to the CPA advice.
