If you haven't already registered for the SoCal Linux Expo, now's the
time. Early Bird registration ends tonight!

Gentoo developers who are interested in attending SCALE can use the promotional code, GNTOO and receive a 50% discount on a full access pass to the show.

Thanks and we'll see you at SCALE!
Gareth

This is just spam. If you were serious about asking Gentoo devs to come
you'd have made this announcement ages ago (perhaps via the official
channels so it wasn't open to anyone who could read, perhaps requesting
confirmation from a gentoo.org address.) As it is you appear to be just
trying to shift empty slots at the last minute.

Thanks a lot, buddy.

Steve,

I am sorry you believe this to be spam, and as a matter of fact I had sent emails to the Gentoo lists regarding SCALE, the call for papers, etc. over the past few months. The promotional code that I provided will continue to work but the price will be $35 instead of $30. As far as wanting Gentoo devels there, I have been in contact with both David Shakaryan and Christel Dahlskjaer regarding the Gentoo booth at SCALE.

My reason for sending this email out was to make sure any Gentoo devels that were interested in going, got in at the early bird price.

Thanks.
Gareth

Just don't get involved in things you don't know anything about. Do *not*
assume on behalf of Gentoo.

You're totally wrong about this.

The price has going up because the early bird sales period has ended, regularly our full priced tickets are $60 and with the discount $30. After the early bird period the full priced tickets are $70 and with the discount $35. The early bird prices are a way to hopefully encourage people to register early :)

Thanks
Gareth

This is not at all the case. Quite a few Gentoo developers were at the
event last year, and I have been in touch with Gareth about the 2008
event for some time now. Either way, Gentoo's proposal for a booth had
been accepted well before Gareth sent out the email in question.

So, no, this is not spam. I'm not trying to be rude, but I don't like
you jumping to incorrect conclusions and possibly insulting people as a
result.

In case you or anybody else is interested:

My apologies, Gareth, for jumping to the wrong conclusion.
