[gentoo-project] Google Summer of Code 2008

Hi folks,

We are applying for Google Summer of Code 2008!

Mentor organizations started on Monday and I have been working on
writing up some documentation for mentors and interested students.

A still rather short mentoring guide is at [1] and a guide for
students who wish to apply is at [2].  Note to students, student
applications aren't open yet (heck we haven't even been accepted!).

However you may wish to peruse the current idea list at [3].

We need mentors and we need project ideas.  The hope here is to have
three to five really strong projects and six to ten mentors.  The
mentor list is also at [3].

Note that mentors need not be Gentoo developers.  The mentor list will
be reviewed and people that are deemed not a good fit will probably
not be accepted as mentors.
