Hello,
I would like to propose the two following things:
1) to stop cross-posting between gentoo-dev and gentoo-dev-announce.
gentoo-dev-announce has reply-to gentoo-dev, I see no reason for
cross-posting.
2) to stop cross-posting for council announcements between
gentoo-dev-announce and gentoo-project, and instead to post them only
in gentoo-dev-announce and not use gentoo-project for council at all,
because they are mails regarding technical issues, while
gentoo-project is a list decidated to non-technical discussions.
Opinions?
Theo

You mean: does not post initial message to gentoo-dev and
gentoo-project? But how about replies? I think that message archives
will be broken, if initial message will be not posted to those maillist,
where answers will go, but i may misunderstood something...

Why? I don't see the point of this. Also for continuance of archives,
I think the current practice makes perfect sense.

fair enough, I'll try to stop some automated mails being double-posted
for no reason. Thanks for the replies

1) I get my email in separate folders for the two so it's nice to have
the full thread in each folder
2) The current rule already is that the actual technical discussion is
on gentoo-dev and gentoo-project is just for submitting the agenda.
Granted this is not the simplest rule.
I think you already decided to solve a good problem if some things are
posted to many non announce mailing lists so thanks for that.
Regards,
Petteri
