Since you said you are the only remaining active developer on Sunrise, and the proxy-maintainers team has quite a few more, and we now have git pull requests for the main repo, I don't think that reason is quite so important anymore. Of course you are free to continue with Sunrise, but in my opinion the first port of call for user contributions should be proxy-maintainers.
