The Gentoo Foundation was accepted to Google Summer of Code 2016. I would
like to thank mentors who volunteered and anyone who proposed project
ideas. And if you want to volunteer now, it's never too late.
Students are encouraged to start working now on their project proposals.
You can peruse the list of ideas at [1] or come up with your own. In any
case, it is highly recommended you talk to a mentor sooner rather than
later. The official application period for student proposals starts on
March 14th. More information on Gentoo's GSoC effort is available at [2].
Do not hesitate to join us in the #gentoo-soc channel on Freenode's IRC. We
will be happy to answer your questions there. We are in the channel almost
all the time but do need to take a bio break once in a while, so please
leave us some time to get back to your question.
