Ladies and Gentlemen,

The nomination period for the Trustee Election 2022-23 ends in less
than two days. This is the last call for nominations.

Potential candidates are reminded that self nomination is OK.

Voting opens at 06-Jul-22 at 00:00 UTC so nominees are reminded
to accept their nominations on the -nfp list to be added to the ballot.
At present, only _reopen_nominations is listed.

I would happily nominate anyone who promises to actually work on joining an
umbrella organization and dissolving the Foundation.

You're too late however, for this cycle.

Nominations closed 2022/07/04 00:00 UTC.
Of the 5 people nominated, 2 declined, 3 did not respond.

https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Project:Elections/Trustees/202206

Where does this leave us?

I believe we will be automatically re-opening nominations, at the
schedule of the Election project.

While not specific stipulated in the Bylaws, the prior practice has held
that should there be insufficent candidates in the 2nd nomination
period, "Section 5.7. Vacancies" will be exercised, and the Trustees
shall source and elect (by majority of remaining trustees) further
trustees to fill vacancies.

Matt,

Anyone can do that. They need not be a trustee.
The choice has to be endorsed by the board and
the decision to dissolve needs to be put to a vote of
members.
