From what I see, the games project didn't care about the QA vote [0]
either and have since been keeping their old workflow and using and
developing games.eclass further. What makes people think this will
change? Do we want to increase inconsistency now and have 3 layouts for
games or fix the underlying problem? I've seen numerous claims from the
council to do that, none of them were successful.

FHS says that /usr/games is optional [1] (same for the other games
related locations) and it doesn't specify in what way this is optional,
so I think it makes sense to just leave it out and use standard
locations, which will also heavily reduce required patching.
