Yet another physicist joins the ranks of gentoo :)  So we have a few 
things in common: I'm a ph.d in physics from cornell, I too am of 
Italian descent but born in Canada and living in the US.  If you haven't 
already, you should meet Andreas (aka dilfridge) yet another physicist.  
There's a few of us in gentoo.
