An argument could be made that we should prevent them from being able to use it. However, our work is meant for all, including people with different priorities. In addition, Gentoo has a long history of respecting project licenses. Given that we forked from a project that was transitioning to the LGPL, it would make sense to continue on that course. If that is inappropriate, then we would need some kind of Gentoo-wide decision to stop licensing patches in the portage tree under non-GPL licenses. This would also prevent us from patching software that is under GPL-incompatible, yet OSI-approved licenses, such as the CDDL. --------------enig74C8EF503AEEA48D84FE1DDE Content-Type: application/pgp-signature; name="signature.asc" Content-Description: OpenPGP digital signature Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="signature.asc" -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v2.0.19 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Mozilla - http://enigmail.mozdev.org/ iQIcBAEBAgAGBQJQzNvPAAoJECDuEZm+6ExkqjgP/RQjYk3M+E3cRFAXUaCZQ0WR b5N2fkg18CuYUuDatJT2nrDWkh0t0t0oSPxRSpS53COemXkqJ+CVfFJ5G+scF0sV 2duQspWIRi/Qi16L2Kq2tTLgVb0VQjo8GDx9x5ml8YVq6qdreEqOo3sg6i/HnQL+ t1Oamr1v55y4XVG/G9JWCx5hlQ3I3UwltiXXfOmnsg7rkUgNuH3qSxqG/hJsBx0J rIPra5SM0LeNA3BT8rQYxq/Xo5ZD/f1wp1tg7rOsaG5memeyro4bmsMqp6B0RxaW WGlYV9wP1h8NdU0nPblf9AxgN7vW1xrAHCbsuVogM3DRUoGtnWqF3lHKGJBb41UE koX3WBbXf7NB5gVPQMGkVPu/Q+QCtZ3Y2x+NtmXUNvdY0p/2SqPyuNHioM5kZAsF /dmkRUxqSfx8fXdFEccmP3b5utfWDyMF+gV2KCDR5FYBpkZroLrvrYkU+Sn3Rc9D V8YXP+eV/2bFatz8KKzwxzSSoscmKNp0TujO0GDIMFVtbV75zD1K3vZZ7Tl3OQjj 9vJfyTCtBm4/pUK2RU9WyeZ5c1U6YUPiZbEeKBZ272SAjMSgpYQVRmHyCe9Zrgdb FV8cExvJDafIm6ZdcncKA7kQtXokwz1+eA6FAwdvD7UU7Nmgsf8UdCC6zNkR78v+ oXogIigQyaaMiaXMkbSV =koNp -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- --------------enig74C8EF503AEEA48D84FE1DDE--
