Good day everyone!

It is my pleasure to announce the latest addition to our family.

Toralf Förster is joining us from Hamburg, Germany.
I strongly believe that lots of people already know him as the person who works on tinderbox,
and he will continue work in his new status!

Here is how he describes himself:

I'm Toralf.

I was born at the end of the 60's in the northern part of the GDR.
In the early 90's I made my graduate engineer in Electrical Engineering at the University Rostock ("Technical Cybernetics and Automation Technology").
Since end of the 90's I do live in Hamburg.

In the early 90s I was influenced by the idea of "public domain".
A decade later I started to play with Linux.
I tried SuSE, looked at RedHat, installed a Gentoo - and stayed at it.

At the university I coded in Turbo Pascal.
After the study I coded for about 5 years in C.
Then I preferred Perl and UN*X/shell tools.
Around 2003 I sneaked a little bit into Java.
Last year I wrote my first Python scriptlet.

For the Ethereal project (today: Wireshark) I wrote a dissector [1] for the IBM Sametime protocol.
I made it into the commit history of the Linux kernel with [2].
I fuzz tested in the past with Trinity [3] x86 User Mode Linux images and uncovered few bugs in nfs (v4 mostly) and hostfs (UML).

I use the hardened profile since 3 years both at my desktop and my server.
The later acts since 2014 amongst other things as a Gentoo tinderbox [4].
My plan within the Gentoo universe is to help keeping the portage tree in a acceptable quality state.
