As a long-time Gentoo user and developer, one of the things I've always
liked about Gentoo is this as well. There was very little custom work on
maintaining packages in Gentoo, because we have always stayed as close
to upstream as we possibly could.
I haven't really looked at the bash completion system, but I think we
should do things the way upstream does where possible. I do not like
divergance from upstream.
