The intention is to leave that to the trustees to determine on a case by case basis. A present, we only have applications from companies in the Financial sector who use Gentoo for their operations, so there will be little or no immediate change. We already have such a side bar advert from a Financial company that donates in the conventional way. > > > > > The trustees recommend that the motion on the ballot is supported. > > > > > > On behalf of the Gentoo Foundation Inc. > > > > Although I consider this to be a significant change, I hope it won't > affect Gentoo's spirit, that it may help foster support for Gentoo > and > that we can make the best use of these resources for our community. > I think it is a case of companies who have benefited from Gentoo wanting to give something back in a way that benefits both parties. We really need to make this sort of thing easier for them. That's what the vote is about. It won't change Gentoos spirit - Gentoo will continue to be a community distro. It will make more resources available to allow the Foundation to help Gentoo grow. > -- > Regards, > > Jorge Vicetto (jmbsvicetto) - jmbsvicetto at gentoo dot org > Gentoo- forums / Userrel / Devrel / SPARC / KDE > Foundation resources will continue to be available in the way they are now.
