Everything went fine on my install except configuring yaboot. When I ran
yabootconfig, it called everything I tried as a path to my kernel
"invalid", so I did a manual config, following the example in the hand
book with image=/boot/kernel-2.6.7.

On reboot I got about a screen and a half of the normal boot info then
it froze. I tried to manually enter the path into yaboot and got the
"invalid" responses.

What is the "valid path" to the kernel that yaboot will accept?

I'm using gentoo-dev-2.6.7-r11.

TIA

John

It would be helpfull if we knew more about how you set up your system.
Did you go with the handbook and make a seperate /boot partition? and
what did you call your kernel image?

Also, what was the last few lines of text before if froze? was there an error?

Colin

I didn't think the PPC handbook suggested making a separate /boot
partition. It's certainly not required.
