hi list,

I researched for getting cd audio running on an ibook, where cdrom and soundcard aren't any longer cabled.
one possible solution I read about is the xmms-cdparanoia plugin.
is it possible to put it into the portage tree for ppc?

Hi there,

while at it, has anyone successfully used mplayer to play cd:s?
If I use mplayer (cvs main) "mplayer cdda://1" I will only get 
noise, probably caused by some kind of endian problem.

With cdparanoia and aplay I'm able to do "cdparanoia 1 - | aplay" to 
play cd:s on my Cube...

I also tried media-plugins/xmms-cdread-0.14a, works as a charm for me!
