Subject: [gentoo-ppc-dev] ppc keyword sys-apps/smartmontools-5.1.16
Date: Thu, 7 Aug 2003 19:03:43 +0200	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <20030807190343.56f9c44e.nikai@nikai.net> (raw)

sys-apps/smartmontools-5.1.16

Smartmontools has been recently reviewed for endian problems.

Quote from the Changelog:
"Smartmontools is now free of endian bias and works correctly
on both little- and big-endian hardware. This has been tested by
three independent PPC users on a variety of ATA and SCSI hardware."

I was one of these, hehe.
So please consider giving it a ~ppc keyword.

Ah, one last thing: I was having strange problems with the source
filename. I had to rename it from smartmontools-5.1-16.tar.gz to
smartmontools-5.1.16.tar.gz because portage considered the
*-16.tar.gz file to be an "unfinished download", and tried to
"complete" it. Is that reproducible?

Have a nice day,
n.
