Hi,
FYI, sys-apps/cpudyn-0.4.7 works perfectly for me on my iBook 2.2 (only ~x86
in the keywords currently). I had been using 0.4.5 for a while without any
problems, and it's nice to use a version now in portage.
The only change I made from the default configuration was to comment out the
'THROTTLING_LOW' line in /etc/conf.d/cpudyn, since that's appropriate only
for ACPI machines. Having that option enabled would likely make no
difference, but I have a thing about enabling options I don't use. :)

ok, moved to ~ppc. should hit the mirrors soon. Tested it. seems
interesting. Would reccomend moving the default time values out a little
more thought. It drops back to the slow speed awfully fast. heh

Doesn't work all fine here. Casual usage (browsing, word processor,
etc.) works fine, however some multimedia apps like xmms don't seem to
like it all too well. Once cpudyn drops to low speed, xmms just stops
playing... Like xmms needs a kick to get started, then settles down,
making cpudyn switch to low speed which again causes xmms to stop
short. Not sure whether it's a cpudyn or xmms problem really...
Greets,
Doc.

Hey Doc,
You know better that this... =P
Did you change any of the settings for time delays? What kind of box are

After further testing it would appear to be a bug with XMMS. I used the
same audio stream for both XMMS and mpg123 and only XMMS has issues when
the cpu steps down.
http://64.236.34.72:80/stream/1023
I tested this on an iBook2 500mhz, which steps down to 400mhz and
an iBook2 800mhz which steps down to 400mhz. Both had the issue reported
with XMMS, but not mpg123.
So it makes me wonder what mpg123 is doing that XMMS can't.
