Sorry to come across lazy here but...
Someone sent me a link to a prep kernel that looked like it booted on my E20. I say looked because nothing displayed on my monitor. I did try just hooking up a serial console, but I didn't get any output. My question is... Do I need to yank the graphics card (110P) and use a serial console for the install/setup?
Assuming this works I need some pointers on modifing the PPClive cd w/ the prep kernel. I've never tried to build/modify an iso, just point me in the right direction.
Thanks,
Mark

for serial console you have to pass something like this to the kernel.
"console=ttyS0,9600 console=tty0"

I posted most of this info on the PPC forum.
The gentoo prep kernel won't boot. It hangs after the "Booting Kernel" message.
I'm using this guy's write up as a reference for my E20. He got debain up and running on a E30 (both servers are 7024 models).

His kernel hangs after loading the scsi driver.
I don't know if I'm dead or not.....
Thanks,
markpmc
