I also tossed up a patch for xemacs on the message board http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=87703 --- configure.orig 2003-10-21 21:42:18.000000000 -0700 +++ configure 2003-10-21 21:42:35.000000000 -0700 @@ -2966,8 +2966,6 @@ fi -test "$machine$opsys" = "powerpclinux" && start_flags="-T $srcdir/src/ppc.ldscript" - if test "$unexec" = "unexaix.o"; then if test "$dynamic" = "no"; then start_flags="-Wl,-bnso,-bnodelcsect" Just append this to the existing xemacs-21.4.9-ppc.diff. Looking at the Changes file distributed with xemacs, it looks like ppc.ldscript was a workaround put in place for PPC Linux about 5 years ago. Now it seems to cause xemacs to fail to build, as documented by the original poster. For what it's worth, I built xemacs-21.4.11, and it compiled and runs OK. Perhaps xemacs-2.4.11 can be unmasked for ppc? - Eric -- gentoo-ppc-dev@gentoo.org mailing list
