Subject: [gentoo-perl] Intend to remove dev-perl/ExtUtils-MakeMaker
Date: Mon, 14 Nov 2005 13:06:45 -0500	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <4378D235.8050407@gentoo.org> (raw)

This package was originally added to handle differences between how perl
5.6 EU::MM's and 5.8 EU::MM's handled arguments. Now, over 3 years
later, it is serving only to complicate lives and make things difficult.
I'd like to remove this package from portage unless there are any
complaints. There's really no reason for anyone on a gentoo system
(ported or original) to use this ebuild any more, and there is at least
one security bug in bugzie that is convoluted because of this package.
Let me know if you have objections,

Mike
