We would like to make a couple of changes to our Gentoo Mirror setup.

 

First: We'd like to change the public mirror from Prometheus.cs.wmich.edu to
mirrors.cs.wmich.edu. This will greatly simplify configuration on our end.

Second: We'd like to become a public rsync mirror in addition to our current
source mirror. What do we need to do?

Sure, please go ahead and make the change. Once the new domain is ready,
file a bug and I'll fix mirrors.xml

Read up on http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/rsync.xml and follow the
instructions :)

Why my mirror (only distfiles) has been removed from the list of official mirrors?

This is just a guess, but I would guess the reason is because you're 
mirror is incomplete, whether that's by your choice or not doesn't 
matter, Gentoo only lists mirrors that follow it's guidelines, which 
you've ignored.

Roman,

I apologize for not seeing this, I have been swamped since I got new 
employment. I actually remember removing this one, since it was quite 
out of sync. If you want to reapply, make sure your mirror stays on sync 
with other mirrors for at least several days (check timestamp.mirmon) 
and then file a mirror bug like you did before. THen we can take a look 
at it.
