Hi,

could you please permanently remove us from the rotation? My apologies but our 
server rsync17.de.gentoo.org (132.180.239.54) woun't be accessible anymore 
from external networks. We have to stop offering rsync services for the 
community.

Perhaps we are back with an other server within one or two weeks... But I 
cannot promise it...

Hi!

It is not decided yet if rsync17.de.gentoo.org will go down permanently. We 
have had some issues with that server and need to do some thorough 
maintainance, which will unfortunately take a couple of weeks. Until then it 
is entirely open wether we can resume service. So treat this as temporary 
only right now, please. Thank you.

Additionally, I've taken over administration of that server from Andreas 
Herrmann. If we decide to take that mirror back up I'd be your contact from 
that point onward.

That's the truth and the IT students' cluster server will hopefully offer 
gentoo mirror services within nearer future.

Could u remove it from your mirror list.

We are ready to go back into rotation with the portage mirror.
I will let you know when we are done with the source mirror. BTW what 
intervals did we sync with the source mirror? (crontab files went out the 
window)

Portage mirror syncs every 30 minutes.
Distfiles (source) mirror syncs every 4 hours from your local midnight.

This affects both the mirror and portage rsync.
We will try and get it back online as soon as possible.
