Now the output of "iwlist scan" is: wlan0 No scan results That's a result that makes intuitive sense, at least, when there are no access points around. However, I get the same result when I parked the car next to a wireless-equipped restaurant during my lunch hour, where I would have expected to see the access point if not connect to it.
