Hi,
I'm up-and-running. I used a livecd. I specified wireless but it's not
working. Can anyone suggest anything or should I build my owm kernel
and follow my googled instructions?
There is a -s from net.lo to net.eth0. I read it should be to net.eth1?
Gavin.

Hello!
Which wireless NIC do you have?
Can you please supply the output of
dmesg
ifconfig -a
and
lsmod
?
Fi.

Hello,
I recomend to install it over wire till you get working minimal
gentoo system. But it depends which wireless card you have and
what security (WPE, WPA, etc.) uses your AP-point. In worst case
your wireless works only with ndiswrapper, which isn't in any
Live-CD (or it is, but your card need newer version)...
Cards which are supported in kernel should work from LiveCD, but
even in this situation I prefer to install minimal system from
wire connection. Because you will config wifi only once.
(Yes I'm lazy, but who isn't? ;-) )
