Hello everyone,
I'm new to gentoo and in general to linux too. I newly configured alsa
and it seems to work:
# cat /proc/asound/cards

The first sound controler on the left is the master. now, the right question is: why would the master controler in alsamixer disappear? I have personnally no idea, but the answer will solve your problem..
