ABOUT GENPATCHES
----------------

genpatches is the patchset applied to some kernels available in Portage.

For more information, see the genpatches homepage:
http://dev.gentoo.org/~dsd/genpatches

For a simple example of how to use genpatches in your kernel ebuild, look at a
recent gentoo-sources-2.6.* ebuild.

Hello,

I'd like to add something to the "wishlist", if such a thing exists, for
the genpatch web pages. It would be "super handy" for the patch names
on the patches-2.6*.htm pages to be hyperlinked to the actual patch file
for quick review. I'd be happy to add this functionaly myself if
someone could point me to the code that autogenerates the summary pages.

Cheers,

-J

Where would you link to? (e.g. give one example?)
I can't think of any permanently storage where patches are kept other
than in their tarballs.

http://sources.gentoo.org/viewcvs.py/linux-patches/genpatches-2.6/tags/

E. g. 1000_linux-2.6.23.1.patch -> http://sources.gentoo.org/viewcvs.py/*checkout*/linux-patches/genpatches-2.6/tags/2.6.23-7/1000_linux-2.6.23.1.patch

Good point :)
The website generation code can be found in the linux-patches SVN repo
under genpatches-misc.

Thanks,
Daniel
