Hi,
John Mylchreest has been retired due to inactivity.
If anyone has any objections to me becoming kernel project lead, please
contact me (either onlist or off).
(and objections are totally fine in that if there is other interest in
this position we need a more formal process anyway)
Alongside continued genpatches/gentoo-sources work, my initial goals for
the project are:
- Finish recruiting Mike Pagano to help with core kernel bugs and
genpatches
- Document the kernel security maintenance roles and restart
recruitment efforts there
- Revisit the idea of automated kernel compile through portage
(combining genkernel kernel ebuilds)
- Would also be nice to find someone to work on the eclasses and
project page
I know I've been less active lately, but that's just temporary as I was
on holiday and am now at home catching up after being away for a year.
Thanks to John for all of his previous hard work.
Daniel

Thats the plan, default ebuild behaviour will stay the same (manual
compile) for the forseeable future.

No objection from me, I honestly thought you were the kernel project
lead these days anyway :)
Keep up the great work,

Not at all. As Greg already pointed out, I thought *you* were the kernel lead.

I'm all over it, just gimme a note once he finishes his quizzes.

Oh, yes .. we really need some more people for this. Harlan is kinda always
busy, Sune also has lots of stuff to do.
Regards,
Christian
