bluej-bin *Description: *BlueJ is an integrated Java environment
specifically designed for introductory teaching. *Releases*alphaamd64armhppa
ia64mipsppcppc64ppc macoss390shsparcsparc fbsdx86x86 fbsd
2.0.5<http://packages.gentoo.org/ebuilds/?bluej-bin-2.0.5>
- ~ - - - - ~ - - - - - - ~ -
2.0.4<http://packages.gentoo.org/ebuilds/?bluej-bin-2.0.4>
- ~ - - - - ~ - - - - - - ~ -
1.3.5<http://packages.gentoo.org/ebuilds/?bluej-bin-1.3.5>
- + - - - - ~ - - - - - - +

why is only 1.3.5 available? Why are there no ebuilds between 1.3.5 and
2.0.4? It's rather annoying if you have to work with a version that is very
very old.

There are two things to the answer:

1) Because no one, that I know of, has been maintaining bluej, so it's
probably a bit neglected

2) Depending on what versions you are looking for... generally we'd only
keep the latest version around.

You could file 'stabilization bugs' at bugs.gentoo.org. When you file
these, the architecture teams will go about testing the package in
question, and assuming nothing goes wrong, will mark it stable.

It certainly wouldn't be a bad idea to learn about ebuilds. They are
basically glorified bash scripts. Details at:

you mean making a bug report with filing or is that a special option I do
not see on bugs.gentoo.org?
