hello, i`m traing to install gentoo-hardened form a livecd
(livecd-x86-selinux-20040616-1) but a cannot make lvm2 work,
steps
load kernel module
- modprobe dm-mod
- vgchange -a y
in that point vgchange refuses to activate the logical volumes, because it
can`t find the mapper (/dev/mapper)
anybody can do this sucesfully ???
tnx

Hi, that could well be because there are no logical volumes.
have you created an lvm partition on your hdd? type 8e ?
if so, after dm-mod and vgscan have you.
activated it: pvcreate /dev/hdax
created the group: vgcreate system /dev/hdax
then the volumes: lvcreate -L10G -nslash system
etc?
