It's so late in the year that we probably wont bother with a 2006.0 but
will do a 2006.1 ; I've been maintaining a binary repos which can aid in
the install process. If you make me aware of what particular
architecture you are after I'm happy to post pseudo stages made from
doing ROOT=/somedir emerge -Ke system and tar-balling that CHOST up.

So a Gentoo-Lite 2006.1 on a i586 host will be possible? Did they fix
the sandbox issues?

http://tinderbox.dev.gentoo.org/portage/local/misc/i386-gentoo-linux-uclibc-20060611.tar.bz2
If you find something missing from the tarball just yell or use the
emerge -G option to have portage automatically grab the pre built
binary packages from the x86 repo at
http://tinderbox.dev.gentoo.org/uclibc/i386/
Sorry no i586
