Hi,
to chroot on desktop, you need quemu-user
(http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/base/embedded/handbook/?part=1&chap=5).

Get your phone an ip address?
# ip addr

What is in /etc/resolve.conf? What say 'dig @8.8.8.8 gentoo.org'? What
say ping 8.8.8.8?
