[gentoo-embedded] crossdev fails on gcc-stage1

[gentoo-embedded] crossdev fails on gcc-stage1

Recently I ran onto a really depressing problem with crossdev. It fails to emerge stage1 of gcc, no matter what version of gcc I tell it to compile (2.95, 3.2.x, 3.4.x, 4.0.0, you name it). I have this problem on every three computers I've tried (x86 and two amd64s). It usually ends in the middle of emerging with a "configure: error: unknown endianess - sorry". What I run is:

crossdev -t arm-unknown-linux-uclibc

I'm out of ideas. Please help.

I've heard that crossdev was deprecated
Anyone has more info?

based on your endianess change arm to for example armeb for big endian 
armeb-softfloat-linux-uclibc works just fine for me with crossdev

OK, everything works fine after upgrading crossdev from 0.9.12 to 0.9.12-r1.
