With the new 3.18.0 mainline kernel it is possible to successfully shutdown (power off) and reboot the system. For the kernel configuration the following options have to be set CONFIG_POWER_RESET CONFIG_POWER_RESET_AT91_RESET The following option needs to be disabled: CONFIG_POWER_RESET_AT91_POWEROFF Have fun!
