Hi,
I was looking at qmerge in portage-utils. It looks very promising.
I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask but here we go.
I would like to have support for ROOT so you can install a package in a
different root:
ROOT=/new_root qmerge uclibc busybox
I would also be nice to be able to install a tbz2 file without needing
the /var/tmp/portage/Packages file.
ROOT=/new_root qmerge /path/to/mypackage-1.0.tbz2
Sorry if this is the wrong place for asking for it.
Thanks!

File a bug for portage-utils@gentoo.org (attach a patch if you can)

- Fetching via anoncvs.
The cvs module for gentoo-projects is mirrored. You may download a
pretty recent copy using the following command. Note: that this is not
the official cvs server but rather a mirror so it lags about a hour or
so behind the real tree which is hosted on cvs.gentoo.org
cvs -d:pserver:anonymous@anoncvs.gentoo.org:/var/cvsroot -q co -R
gentoo-projects/portage-utils
