Subject: [gentoo-dev] pre-qmerge scripts?

I would like to run a script/program before qmerge is generating the md5
- sums of the to be installed files. The purpose of this would be to
move some files into another subdir (/usr/apps/application-version) and
creating symlinks to the /usr filesystem (using (x)stow).

I've looked into the portage - sources, it shouldn't be hard to do it,
but I want to hear the opinion of others. I think that a general purpose
option in make.conf which would define an optional pre-qmerge script
might come in handy for others too (at least it would make customizing
gentoo easier).

tia,
Andreas
