Hi everybody.

Due to a large unscheduled power outage at OSL, we've had to power down
some hardware.

Most critically, osprey, the box that does CVS->rsync generation and
master distfile fetching, has been affected.

This means that ALL commits you make will NOT propagate to rsync until
osprey is online again.

The outage looks related to severe weather, and there is no ETA on when
it will be back. Additionally, when the power returns, we'll need to
wait for some human interaction on osprey to verify that it comes up
cleanly.

Osprey has returned to service.

If you are using gentoo-dev please use the combination of
gentoo-dev-announce and gentoo-dev to reach all devs instead of
gentoo-dev and gentoo-core.

Regards,
Petteri

Why is gentoo-core is not enough? I thought all devs were expected to
follow -core, no exceptions made.

Well, unless something is sensitive it probably doesn't belong on -core.
In the spirit of openness we really should have very little traffic on
-core (which happily is the case).

Now, if the announcement included somebody in infra's cell phone number
of something as a contact then of course that would be -core material.

If you want all devs to get something -dev-announce is the right forum,
unless it is sensitive.
